This tight and awkwardly shaped storefront space on a busy Queens, NY street started out as a Bakery. As demolition proceeded and years of construction debris were removed, the volume and actual shape of the space became Ken's template for his design. The program included: Waiting Room, 4 Exam Rooms, 1 Large Animal Exam, ICU, Ward, ISO, X-Ray, Surgery, Utility Area, Doctors's Reporting Area, Lab, Staff Space, Doctor's Office, Interior Run, Dog Boarding, Cat Boarding, and Supplies Storage... These space requirements were handled with the creative use of Basement Area and a new Mezzanine Area with roof access and skylights. The final design has been funtioning wonderfully and the Doctor and his Patients are happily interacting in their new quarters!
